GC Films' Team is truly dynamic. Each individual is experienced in their field and the whole team functions as one organism whether in the same office or across continents and time zones. They're all driven and dedicated to making GC Films one of the best independent film productions in the industry.
Our Story
Founded in 2017, GC Films is a boutique independent film (and music video) production company with big ambitions. The company shares its ambitions with an array of young and talented writers and directors.
It has given their feature directorial debuts to Ian Dray (Rideby) and Russell Owen (Shepherd and Inmate Zero).
The company’s main areas are horror/psychological thrillers and “true stories”. Rideby was written by Naveen Medaram and was his first to be made into a film; and so was Inmate Zero aka Patients of a Saint (original title: Prizoners) by Matthew J Gunn. Finally, Shepherd. The atmospheric and brilliant psychological horror written by the young and bright talent that is Russell Owen, which he also directed. Russ got his break with GC Films for the brilliant big-screen debut work he did on Inmate Zero. Having written Shepherd almost 14 years before its production, GC Films spotted the talent in the writing and Russ’s contagious enthusiasm and together they made the film which was BFI London Festival 2021 official selection; New York Times Critics’ choice of the week (May 2022) as well as being Mark Kermode Film of the Week (October 2021). The success of the film with the critics led to it being pick up by the powerhouse of film distribution that is Saban Films for the US/Canada territory through Parkland Entertainment.
GC Films have worked with various Sales Agents/Distribution Companies, such Archstone, Vertical Entertainment, Parkland Entertainment, Darkland Films and finally, the brilliant Jinga Films (who share exactly the same vision as GC Films). From acquired experience from both Bollywood and Hollywood, GC Films owner and CEO, Karim Prince Tshibangu is leading the company in a new direction which means the company now, whilst sticking to its core business of film production, is entering the world of film finance as well as film delivery. Meaning, GC Films is now able to supervise your film total delivery to distributors by handling all the deliverables (Chain of Title) even in the tough territory that is the USA.
